Thanks for the review of Superman Returns. I appreciate your comments about the age of the actors not meshing with the characters they portray. I think I was so caught up in the magic of the whole thing that I never really put that together.

Beyond this, I thought the story and delivery was great.

I'm disappointed that your review failed to mention or analyze the blatantly Christian themes of this film, much more pronounced than they were in the Reeves films. I'm still not quite sure what to make of this myself. The cynic in me has always assumed that the producers were pandering to the newly discovered cash cow that is the evangelical movie audience (remeber how Rocky Balboa was previewed with religious groups?). But I still have a hunch that Singer was actually doing something deeper than that. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about him to figure out exactly what he was up to.
